'Odd Couple'... no. Bizarre couple... yes. (Because there's actually three of them.)
The two main players, are like the festering halves of a bad marriage.
Having met on a 'Desperate-People-Like-Us' website, they told their eager - and equally desperate - family members they liked the same things, shared values, etc... then found out too late - after setting up home together - the only thing they really had in common was a shared inability to have an original thought.
Fortunately, procreation was always going to be a definite no:no.
Meanwhile, bereft of a plan for the family finances, their solution: to introduce a third person to their little menagé a trois , failed, when the batteries in his calculator faltered, then snuffed it... and little Gideon was sent away, to be wheeled out only when a whipping-boy was required - a role he revels in.
What the trio in this ineffectual, loveless little menagerie now need to realise, is that the corpse, that was their coalition marriage, is well-and-truly dead... it just won't lie down.
However, the wake will be held in Autumn - all welcome.
