Most of descriptions of him and his style of play sound very promising. Nobody really seems to know what the fee might be but the general consensus is he'll be cheap. I'm not against signing someone who IS cheap but I'm afraid we're looking to sign someone BECAUSE they are cheap, and that's a big difference! The track record of the club in recent yrs and the constant moaning about no value makes me suspicious of our transfer market ambitions. However to take this player on his merits, it all sounds very promising you have to say

We do also need a combative, strong energetic midfielder aswell though. I maintain we need 1 creative, and I'd thats Kagawa then well and good, and the combative midfielder to help ensure teams like Bilboa can't just pass us off the pitch. Also in the modern game pressing high and fast is a common tactic. Our midfield have comprehensively shown that they are wholly ineffective against this so whoever we bring in needs to be capable of receiving the ball in tight spaces when under pressure and not panic and flap like Carrick does when pressed. We also need them to be quick and mobile enough to in turn press the opposition, again something out incumbent midfielders are terrible at
