It's been a while since I've commented here. But needs must. If things fall in our favour and we win the league, I'm sorry, but it won't feel celebratory to me. Why? 1. We had an 8 pt advantage with 5/6 games to go and didn't seal the deal. Why didn't we seal the deal? Because we don't have the characters to do it. That's not players I'm talking about - it's characters: leaders, winners, those who go above their natural ability to deliver....Robson, Bruce, Keane, Ince, etc. 2. The policy of investing in youth, which I support, is not enough on its own. I think Fergie likes (or liked ) Nasri and Modric because they've proved they can do it in the Premier League. I can only imagine his disappointment in Anderson, injuries aside. Which should mean the signing of a Fellani (only 24) or equivalent would be clever. 3. The very obvious lies which insult every one of us when, without so much as a shameful blink of an eye, we're told we're competitive in the transfer market, the 'Ronaldo' money is still there, or there's no value in the market. Jesus wept! We're not stupid! We spet 50m last year on, I believe, very, very good players. But apart from Ashley Young, it's far too much to expect the others to deliver consistently enough in their first season to enable us to won trophies. The transfer strategy this summer must be amended.

Finally to those genuinely insightful posters who claim we only need a left-back.........Seriously????

If we win the league I won't feel euphoric like I normally do.

Sorry.
