I would assume Father Daly used the tactic of "come back at a more conveinient time", as a means of trying to get rid of the intruders. I dont think its a sign of him not being scared at all. In threatening situations you say anything you feel will bring it to an end. We must also remember what happened to Rev Studdards at Thornbury. I wish you well Father Daly xx
