Both maps are OK, Andrew's has more "style" but there is the distinct possibility of a swastika emerging as other lines are added! Looking at his website he has dine a great job with Merseyrail map (and puts Susan Wildman's assertion about a square map not being suitable at the same time!).

But, however, both maps fail for the customer in my opinion; they are where operators routes are, not where people want to travel to. TfGM has never seemed to understand this, few big city public transport authorities do for that matter. For instance, Metrolink maps are never about interchange. London gets some of it right and produces good guidance for others to use.

I also like these guys: http://www.quickmap.com/ .I carry one of their foldout maps of London every time I'm down there, quite brilliant.
