I was at RAF Stafford when this kicked off. We had Helicopter Refuellers being sent down. After the event was seeing the Helicopter bring the lads back and watch them on parade being handed their campaign medals. Not long after, I had been trained up too. Eventually the RAF thought a posting would do me a world of good and sent me to Belize at Salamanca Camp. There I met the guys from 3 Para in the jungle camp who also fought in the Falklands. They recounted their lost friends and some home truths too. Later when I got posted to RAF Kinloss Scotland. The RAF felt it time to send me to the Falklands. It is amazing sight to behold and worth saving. As a Heli-Refueller I started out at Port Stanley and later Hillcove on the West island. I became good friends with the local at Hillcove village and yearly send Christmas cards. In 1990 I went down again to Foxbay south of the West islands and enjoyed every minute of my time. I urge people to see on Falkland islands websites and images available what people had fought and died for. At Foxbay too I made friends and yearly send cards.
