As fans I just hope we can rejoice in the progress made but stay objective about the limitations of the team.
1. It must be obvious to every opposing manager by now that if our only 'wingers' are in fact full backs, then we are vulnerable to fast breakaways down the flanks. Time and again the resulting overload causes problems.
2. Clatter into Silva and Balotelli a few times early on and half the job's done - the ref's are providing them no protection; they just wait for the latter to respond..
3. Play Dzeko and Balotelli from the start in the same team and sooner or later the rest will buckle under the increased workload.
We can be sure the management know all this and more, and are making their plans to fine tune the squad. We as fans must be patient in the meantime: the direction of travel is correct unless we self-destruct.
The glass is half full, not half empty!
