How ridiculous. The police officer who decides the police presence at a game is of such a rank that he or she will not get any of the overtime, if indeed it is overtime. GMP are indifferent to it's officers' working conditions - so I doubt very much the organisation is "defrauding" county to please some faceless constables'. It's not uncommon for people like Lord Snape under financial pressure to try and blame another body with fatuous remarks. Might as well have a pop at the cops - everyone else does to shift the focus from themselves.
