the metrolink has not been fit for purpose for the last ten years with constant breakdowns and failures. we have been assured new trams and signalling systems would solve this.

yet still the problems occur.

we've had the trams forced upon us by our previous do-gooder liberal council. even after almost every oldham was against it. we've had a perfectly good reliable train service taken away from us in favour of the trams.

its now months behind schedule and causing massive delays to the remaining methods of transport. be it car, bus or even pedestrian.

the latest is a four week closure of the major A62 road. two lanes will be diverted into a single lane. that is already at maximum capacity.

now legally the council and contractors have a duty of care towards the surrounding area and those who use it to ensure that as little disruption is caused.

having been affected on a daily basis by these works i can honestly say there has never been an care taken in the roadworks.

its as if they want to cause as much disruption as possible. surely not?
