I am very pleased that Ian Stewart has received this nomination because he was an excellent Constituency MP, much better than the one we have now, Barbara Keely.

As for Iain Lindley's comments, I have just read his 'diary' where he is backing Karen Garrido the Conservative so maybe he would like to tell us what the Conservatives, either in Central or Local Government have done for the people of Salford?

At least Ian Stewart is aware of the problems facing the ordinary working person and is not a publicity seeking, attending the opening of an envelope because it might get my name in the papers person, like Merry or Hazel Blears!!

If Merry had got the nomination I had decided that for the first time since I was old enough to vote I would be defacing my voting paper rather than vote for either him or Garrido or whoever the Liberal Democrats decide to choose.

I would prefer not to have an elected mayor and voted that way in the referendum or whatever they called it. But I will exercise my democratic right to vote again.

As you may be able to tell I do not support any of the political parties but, as my forebearers fought for the right for me to vote, I will exercise that right always.
