''Prof Ghodse later told the M.E.N. he had meant to say Manchester had previously had problems with drug gangs''
So are we now saying we don't have problems with drug gangs?
''I have walked through Moston, Newton Heath, Ardwick, Moss Side and Hulme''
Why are these districts highlighted? What is the implication here?
"His comments trash the city's reputation..''
What exactly is the city's reputation? Having to work all over the UK let me tell you it isn't great. You have councillors spouting off in the media about the cuts stating that we have the most deprived areas in the UK (doesn't attarct people to come up), that we are a serverly congested, gridlocked and polluted city (why would you go there), and the Shameless, Royle Family, Liam Gallagher, out of date Corrie, riots images still abound, we celebrate the drug culture of Madchester and generally we don't portray us as a modern city.
''There are certainly no no-go zones in Manchester''
I beg to differ because there are certain parts that I would never step foot in as I wouldn't feel safe whether by day or night. Oh and I have seen civil war in Nepal and seen some of the worst slums in Jakarta as well as other not so pleasant areas. I am not comparing Manchester to these places but there are no-go areas.
