We are always getting slagged off by the knowall-knownouts who call us a rich man's toy and is someone who will soon get bored and jump ship. In fact, our owners are astute businessmen in their own right. So what if we have had a net spend of £600m since the buyout? Name me any business of a large size that has made money before being invested upon? Even the oil majors have had to spend billions [at today's prices] in the North Sea before a single barrel of oil could ever be sold to the market, and our owners are merely following that same business pattern.
