I'm with Richard on this - massive under-education of the electorate, both campaigns offering more rhetoric than meaningful dialogue and a turnout that can only be seen as a reflection of the general apathy in Salford towards fundamental change in local politics. This whole thing was a shambles, and it's amazing that 10% of Salfordians can make such a significant decision. I voted no by the way - you can probably tell.

I only hope that there's a better turnout (and MUCH better awareness campaign) for the mayor when elections come around.
