Excellent idea, how about tax rasing powers too. How about we just become an automonous region like the majority of Spainish and French regions. Run our region from our region, not London. For example, the Northern Hub, a few hundred million quid we need for it. Looked promising, and now Govt seem to be back tracking on it. London... well they want a new underground line and a high speed rail line no one else wants so the Govt throws BILLIONS at them... is that fair? The North and other regions not in Gretaer London or the Home counties will forever suffer unless regional powers are granted.
