Ian Brown has a very comfortable solo career and Squire has always seemed happy with his lot. mani has been earning a crust with Primal Scream, so I wouldn't say any of them was desperate for money. Sometimes you just have to scratch an itch, and great artists usually have great egos and often can't resist getting back into the ring one more time.
