Are you really suggesting that cyclists don't pay tax? There is no such thing as road tax, motor vehicle drivers pay vehicle excise duty, this does nt pay for roads, when will drivers learn this. Anyone who pays general taxes (which includes most cyclists) pays for highways and publice rights of way!

Further, part of the objection to this plan was that it would make the path inaccessible to anyone with prams or wheelchairs, the cycling campaign leading also made these points.
