Bolton has in it’s art collections a painting [ Nearing Camp, Evening on the Upper Colorado River, Wyoming, 1882], purchased in 1998 for over $1m. Why did they purchase it? Because it was by a Bolton artist! The artist, Thomas Moran, was born in Bolton. He, with his family left Bolton and lived in the US from the age of seven. The painting was of a scene in the US, commissioned by the US Government Definitely part of Bolton’s heritage.

Perhaps they could sell this.
