Firstly, it was a small number & whilst even one bad copper is one too many, it's both wrong & offensive to imply it's more than that.
"How many innocent people confessed to crimes they didn't do after "falling down the stairs" back in the good old days?" I have no idea, nor do I know why you call them the good old days. I wouldn't & I didn't even work for the police prior to PACE.
