Tram trains would work extremely well on the Atherton line between Wigan and Manchester. They currently run 2 per hour but Metro frequency would have a massive impact on over crowding, and it would also serve the area's of Salford without metrolink which would be an excellent boost for Walkden & Swinton, as well as branching Wigan Borough into the network.
