It just shows that in Trafford that your first choice is a grammar school, if you dont pass your 11+ then you go to your second choice (the non grammar), its obvious that grammar schools would be first choice, they get the best results as they take the best kids at 11. This exercise is useless and pointless and actually shows nothing apart from GCSE statisitcal skills. Everyone in Trafford will put a Grammar first, there are probably only 161 places at Sale High, as everyone around there will be looking at Sale and Altrincham grammars. If you could put any university as first choice even if its unlikely you would get the grades (which is what I presume most people do on the hope their kids pass) I'm sure the Oxford and Cambridge would go through the roof.
