It's nice to see Manchester given such a high profile in the news headlines, as a destination for a major announcement, hopefully the city can build on this and raise the profile in general. It really does make a change to hear a different city to London, and why shouldn't Manchester benefit.
As for Ed Miliband, time will tell if he'll be successful. The shadow of the union backing and his rather left wing views may not endear him to voters, and it is quite a surprise to learn that there have only been four Labour leaders ever elected since the Labour party was formed, the statistical odds against Ed Miliband are quite steep. The other issue is his youthful looks, although he's 40 years old he looks fresh out of uni! some may hold that against him. I think he has a uphill battle to move the Tories out of power, which next time round they may well consolidate.
