Its all well and good suggesting looking at alternative transport but what if there really aren't any! My kids leave for school to catch the bus at 7.15 to ensure they reach school in time for 8.30 (thanks Wigan Council for the upheaval in Tyldesly now you have "improved" the roads). But when they have to walk they are having to leave 20 minutes earlier as it is not safe to take the "short cut". I am also having to pay £8 each week for each child to be able to get the bus because we are not quite 3 miles from school (2.9 miles according to the websites).
