As the article says Paul is a rookie ff, meaning that he is on probation, continuous on the job training over a two year period. Clearly he has made a mistake, the important thing is that he learns from this mistake, which judging by his comments in the article he clearly has. None of the people posting messages on here can hand on heart say that they have never mind a mistake. I am sure following this experience Paul will go on to fiercely apose drink driving and the harm that it can cause and as a result provide a positive impact on people's lives.
A considerable amount of tax payers money and people's time has been invested in training Paul to this stage. I believe the service would be guilty of misuse of this time and money dismiss Paul from the service now.
I hope that the service are able to see sense and continue to educate Paul, other ffs and the general public as to the dangers of drink driving, whilst allowing a guy who has pledged to dedicate his life to saving others to continue his career!
