Many years ago lived on Lacey Green, the population was then 10,000! Have visited several times, walked along familiar streets, discovered a few people I remembered. The Lonsdales who once owned the George & Dragon. Discovered the crypt at St Bartholmews. Trying to write my memoirs , (the names will be changed to protect the guilty!!!). There was a family called Sylvanus. The Cleggs amd their large store, Chrichtons. all the shops on Grove Lane? What happened to the Worsleys, Uptons, Baileys, Rigbys,Morgans,Bowers,Aldcrofts to mention afew.The Parishioners of St Teresa's, the old teachers at Chancel Lane School, which I saw no longer exists! The Fish and Chip shops? Since leaving I have lived in Ireland, France and now the U.S. Stayed at the Old Kings Head, which had been renamed.
