It is such a shame that Marcus feels the way he does. His interpretation of the meeting I believe is tainted by his preconceptions. I would also like to remind EVERYONE the meeting was recorded by a team of film students for the BBC and ALL comments were recorded for prosperity. Getting into a "He said ...and She said....situation is not necessary. Failsworth and Hollinwood Action Group is made up of BOTH Home owners and Tennents up until Marcus's comments we didn't think it mattered whether members were tennents, homeowners, employed, retired, housewives or business owners, as long as they were members of the community. (Not even ALL our councillors can claim to be residents in the community).

Failsworth and Holinwood Action Group are NON POLITCAL...we dont say what people want to hear for votes OR ignore voters wants and needs to toe a party line.

The concerns regarding HMR are based on the experience of other communties that have been torn apart and dispersed. Not just in Derker and Werneth, but in, Liverpool, Newcastle, Hull, Darwen etc.

By community we mean old and young , businessess and residents who support each other. Almost like the origional Co-OPeratives, by the people for the people. From Cradle to Grave. We know Social Issues are not created or solved by bricks and mortar...They don't just happen over night....years of under investment and neglect by those who hold the purse strings...years of over spending on "fantastic" and completely useless ideas such as cycle lanes that probably aren't long enough for a single bike to use..skate parks the kids don't want , buying the Roxy cinema and shutting it down..not to mention the "LOST" millions of OMBC....
