You will recall that last season's run of success, however brief, came when we narrowly beat sides who had lost confidence, happily adding up to 30 points in the end. By the time things went wrong, we were in the role of Soft Touch, and allowed even Fulham to gain their only away win. So it looks like it happened again on Saturday. West Ham have lost almost everything that made them good. It may well be temporary, but we stuffed them while they were down. Thank Beanie for that. If we want a few more points, bring on Charlton, or Middlesbrough, while they are down, and hope to catch 4 or 5 other outfits during their bad runs. Samaras was finally allowed some space, unlike the previous matches, and in went the goals and other shots. Ish flew off down the left, helped by ineffective defending, and good luck to him. What I'm getting at is that this was a match partly handed to us by struggling opposition, and partly a long-awaited change of attitude and tactics. We'll judge you after the next match, Mr Pearce, but please can you give Beanie a contract, and direct your walkie talky to him, instead of the less than thoroughbread Mr Wigley. Better to find inspiration from the wise horse's mouth, rather than taking bad advice from another horse's ****.
