The Shakers go into the game after six successive victories - their best winning run since the 1960/61 season when they won nine on the bounce.
And victory at Chesterfield would leave them with two home games against Shrewsbury and Morecambe to equal that amazing feat from half a century ago.
Bury boss Alan Knill said: "The players have learned from last season and there is an attitude about the team. They do not panic and the way that they are playing is very pleasing. If we just keep doing what we are doing we will be OK.
"Chesterfield have one of the biggest budgets and should be up there. They will be tough but our away record is as good as any in the league and it does not matter home or away - we expect to win."
Knill has a strong squad available with Andy Bishop and on loan United midfielder Sam Hewson pushing for starts.
