Goalkeeper Cameron Belford had told his Bury team-mates they cannot afford to be a soft touch again when they host Hartlepool this Saturday.

The Shakers were well off the pace during last weekend’s derby at Rochdale and for the second time this season they were outclassed by their bitter rivals.

New boss John Coleman breathed life into Rochdale’s League One survival hopes, and gave arch rivals Bury a derby nightmare.

Coleman, who took charge at Spotland this week, had his troops fired up for the clash and the Shakers were caught cold as the hosts tore into them from the off.

Bury lost the first derby of the season at Gigg Lane in September, going 3-0 down inside 18 minutes and ultimately losing 4-2.

Coke has got his fizz back for Bury

Giles Coke is looking to pick up from where he left off after returning for a second loan spell with Bury.

The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder scored three goals in 10 games during two months at Gigg Lane earlier in the season. And after signing Mike Jones from Bury for an undisclosed fee last week, Wednesday boss Gary Megson let Coke go the other way till the end of the season.
