Will Bury Council vote for a 10% reduction in their salaries due to the recession in order to maintain the current service whilst bringing council tax down? Somehow whilst the real world workers take pay cuts and get the sack, I doubt the council feels the need to do the same. Instead why not just cut support for childrens services or ???

I just found on the Bury Times website that Bury are to get a 3.76% hike in council tax against the national average of less than 2%. How do they justify it and how can we complain?

Just read the tweets or whatever they are. Well done that lady, very good reporting. Although what a shower the councillors are. Fancy praising the gritters. We personally lost £1,500 income during the bad weather as we neither saw any gritters nor did we get any grit in the boxes and now they pat themselves on the back and charge me an extra £50 for the privilige.
