ROUGHYEDS’ chairman Chris Hamilton has challenged new signing Valu Bentley to show make an impact in 2010.

The 27-year-old Kiwi is Oldham’s third new signing having taken a year out from the sport after spells with Villeneuve, Marseilles, UTC and a brief stay with Gateshead Thunder.

Mr Hamilton said: "He is keen to be given an opportunity at Oldham and he knows he has a lot of work to do given that he didn’t play last year.

"He knows he is a little behind the others but he is keen to catch up and work hard, and that is excatly what he is doing."
