DIGGLE exited the Huddersfield League Barlow Cup competition at the first hurdle, losing 4-2 to Heywood having led 2-0 with half-an-hour left.

Goals either side of half-time from Ryan Hewitt and Gareth Goddard had put Diggle ahead against the defending league champions.

However, Heywood were level by the 70th minute before Diggle conceded two further goals in the last five minutes.
