SANTOS were beaten 4-2 when they travelled to Milton for their Lancashire and Cheshire League division two match last weekend.

Keeper Robert Tagg had made some good saves to keep the home side out, only for Milton to eventually open the scoring to lead at half-time.

Santos began the second half more positively, stringing together some excellent moves and creating good chances, only for the home side to score two quick goals and strengthen their hold of the game.

The final 10 minutes saw Santos make three tactical changes and come back into the game thanks to two well taken goals from Russell Clarke.

Santos then had strong claims for a penalty turned down before Milton made the game safe with their final goal, coming with time running out.

The club’s reserve team continued their recent improvement with a 4-2 win against Chorltonians.

Having been a goal down after two minutes, Santos equalised through Scott Watson before seeing their opponents retake the lead.

However, Dominic Rathmill ensured the scores were level by half-time, after which Adam Taylor put them ahead with 15 minutes remaining.

They made the three points safe in the final minute when Mick Kelly converted their first penalty of the season.
