Friends claim Alliance title

The Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance league season ended with Friends claiming the league title following a maximum-points defeat of Heyside on Sunday.

The latter batted first and were all out for 153 as Amin took 3-29 and Nadeem 3-44.

Closing the gap

Last weekend’s matches in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League saw second-placed Heyside close the gap on leaders Bamford Fieldhouse.

Silva strikes gold for Austerlands

Austerlands professional Sidney De Silva had the day’s highest knock in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League when they faced Uppermill at Thorpe Lane.

Friends take over at the top

With Friends having an open date, Greengate took the opportunity to move to the top of the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance table with a maximum six-point win.

Table-toppers are no Friends

Friends went four points clear at the top of the table in the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance with victory over nearest rivals Greengate.
