Two noisy neighbours in Chadderton have been fined for making the lives of Arden Street residents a misery.

Sharon Hunt and Wayne Trayers pleaded guilty at Oldham Magistrates' Court to contravening a noise abatement notice put in place after complaints of loud music and shouting.

Trayers was fined £380 plus £525 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Hunt was fined £140 plus £200 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

A council spokesman said: "Noise nuisance can be a significant problem to the quality of life of our citizens. When required the Council can and will take legal action in order to ensure that the lives of its citizens are not disrupted by the actions of an irresponsible minority."
