A MAN was shot in the chest as he walked along a street late last night.
The 39-year-old was taken to hospital after being shot on South Hill Street, Glodwick, Oldham, at 11pm. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A car was seen driving away from the scene. Minutes later police were called to nearby Marlborough Street where a grey Ford Focus had been set on fire.
Det Sgt Jamie Daniels said: "This was a shocking incident and it is fortunate this man was not more seriously wounded.
"We're doing all we can to find who is responsible for this attack - but we need the public's help, so I'm appealing for anyone who may know who has done this or who may have seen anything at the time for them to get in touch with us."
