MICHAEL Bentwood's battle for points in the Green Flag British Touring Car Championship continued at Croft in North Yorkshire on Sunday, but to no avail.

The 26-year-old from Hale qualified in 13th for race 1, but was unable to make progress and in the second and third races he had to settle for a pair of 11th places.

"(It was) 'not the weekend I wanted to have, ' said Michael.

'We struggled to find a balance in qualifying, but we still managed a time that would have put us third last year, it just shows how far the factory teams have moved on.'

Racing in the middle of the notoriously aggressive BTCC pack, Bentwood was left fighting back after being pushed off twice, 'some drivers used amateur tactics and cost me valuable points, and I'm not happy about it,' he commented.

Anthony Reid took the win in the first race, but the day belonged to Jason Plato and Seat who declared their championship credentials with a pair of wins backed up by his team mate Robert Huff in second place.
