CHEETHAM Hill lost last weekend and allowed Denton St Lawrence to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Hill batted first in their Lancashire County League match against Glossop and reached a competitive 186 for eight.
Yousef Anwar top scored with 40.
Due to rain delays Glossop were set a revised target of 175 in 45 overs.
They eventually managed to edge over the line and reached 175 for four thanks to 61 from Bates and 46 from Parera.
Hill’s second team achieved their highest league placing of the season to date when a win pushed them up to fifth spot.
