BOTH Cheetham Hill teams achieved comfortable victories last weekend, writes Simon Mahon.

The first team totalled 208 for six in their 50 overs against Denton West.

This was mainly due to an opening partnership of 143 between Rogers (60) and Aziz (74). Aziz hit three sixes and put Hill into a dominant position.

West got off to a quickfire start in reply. But they were soon pegged backed by tight bowling from Hamza (3-40).

West managed to bat out the overs and deny Hill a maximum win.

Hill seconds posted a score of 211 thanks to Saleem (54) and an eighth wicket stand of 100 between Shah (43) and Ahmed (53).

They then managed to bowl Denton West seconds out for 160 (K Hussain 4-40).
