CHEETHAM Hill claimed eight of a possible 10 points in an enthralling weekend for the club.

On Saturday they played at Flowery Fields.

Batting first they stumbled to 125 all out, leaving Flowery 60 overs to reach their target.

But some inspirational bowling from G Abbas (7-19) saw Flowery slip to 35 for seven at one point before they fought back with a gutsy 55 from Williams.

That left Flowery requiring 10 from the final over, with nine wickets down, and with four needed a dramatic run out won the game for Hill.

On Sunday Hill played Denton in another nail-biter.

After a long delay the match was reduced to a 20/20 slog in difficult batting conditions.

Denton reached 100 for four. In reply Hill failed to gain any momentum and were left needing five of the last over.

It was two to win and one for the tie off the last ball and Rather managed to scramble a single.

Hill seconds made it five victories on the bounce with wins over Flowery Field and Denton.

Shabaz hit 61 against Flowery, and Ahmed scored 52 against Denton.
