A GROUP of residents in Harpurhey are bidding for a big cash windfall to better their community.
More than 40 tenants from Adactus Housing joined forces with ITV to make a short film – ‘Growing Healthy Lives’ – to promote their project to create a new community allotment.
The group has been shortlisted for TV programme The People’s Millions, with the chance to win £50,000.
They want to put the cash towards converting a derelict piece of land near Brentford Street and Windsor Road into a new community allotment.
Natalie Tordoff, from Adactus, said: "The filming was a great opportunity to get everyone involved in the project together and build on the enthusiasm.
"We aim to convince the viewers to support us and vote for ‘Growing Healthy Lives’."
To vote tune in to Granada TV, The People’s Millions on November 24 or visit www.peoplesmillions. org.uk.
