Our Lady’s is one of the most improved secondary schools in Manchester. The school continues to go from strength to strength and provides a happy and inclusive environment that supports educational success.

This summer, yet again, Our Lady’s achieved record GCSE results. 79 per cent of pupils achieved five A*to C grades; more significantly, 47 per cent achieved five A* to Cs with English and maths, which now has a national focus to ensure young people are equiped for employment or further education; all students left school with at least one vital qualification.
Ofsted inspectors visited in July and commended the school on its current progress and capacity for sustainable improvement.

To build on this established track record and the many positive aspects of the school, Our Lady’s classes and curriculum for the new Year 7 students have been adapted to offer a more personalised timetable to help them settle in quickly. Staff with primary and high school experience have been specifically recruited for this new initiative to support those youngsters who need closer support and also give the more able students the opportunity to flourish.

Students joining the school will benefit from a £25m state-of-the-art new school with access to superb new IT facilities, spacious classrooms and excellent sports facilties including a floodlit all-weather pitch.

Our Lady’s has long been a popular choice for parents and is at the very heart of the community, enjoying strong links with the church, local leaders, parents and carers. There is keen demand for places and the school is now accepting application forms for new pupils, which are available online or via the school office.

Headteacher James Keulemans says the Open Evening on Thursday September 29 from 6 to 8pm, will provide more details of the new school and later, over refreshments, give every visitor the chance to talk informally with students, teaching staff and management.
