MIDDLETON Lads under eights were a different class and played their best football of the season to remain unbeaten in the Bowlee Mini League.
They defeated Whitemoss Juniors 6-1.
Middleton struggled to get to grips with a slightly different system as they sportingly fielded only six players instead of the usual seven due to Whitemoss being one short.
They had goalkeeper Leighton Le Carpentier to thank for some good handling in the early stages, but midway through the first half they got their passing game together and started to carve open their opponents’ defence.
Marshall Fox opened the scoring with a calm finish.
The second half was a very one-sided affair.
Further goals came from Ryan Beard (2), Fox, Jimmy Barlow and Callum Stirrup.
Player of the day was Ryan Beard.
