I totally agree. I was lucky enough to see an early showing of "Shaun" and I can verify that this is the funniest british movie since "Withnail and I".
I saw a preview of "Shaun of the Dead" and would just like to say, if you love zombie films SEE THIS MOVIE!
How wonderful to see a comedy that doesn't rely on fart gags (OK there are a few, but an acceptable number ;o) )
Clever comedy, well directed and filmed, well written, with a talented cast. See it!

We saw this on friday and plan to go again. A British comedy which pleasingly kept us laughing all the way through, unlike most which only provide one or two laughs and drag through the other hour. The cult references were culty enough for us to feel smug about spotting them, but obvious enough to work for everyone. Nice all round effort.
I'm not a fan of horror movies, but still think this rocks. There are some really funny observations on how close many people are to being zombies anyway, (listen for Zombie Nation playing on the bus!) well worth watching.
