Drew Barrymore finally issued a statement following the news that her estranged husband, Tom Green, filed for divorce in Los Angeles.

She said: ''We have decided to part. I love Tom very much. He has always been a great friend, and that won't change.''

Barrymore, 26, was unable to respond earlier as she was on a plane to Canada to start her next film, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, directed by George Clooney.

The news of the divorce filing did not surprise Barrymore, her publicist stated.
