Now it's rolling into Stockport, Wigan, Salford, Rochdale, Tameside, Preston, Bolton, Oldham and the centre of Manchester from next Friday for 16 days.
It's the Kino Cinemobile - a huge touring truck that unfolds into a movie theatre with 100 seats and a full-sized screen.
It will be coming to town squares, city centres, car parks and heritage sites, bringing film to the people with a mix of the weird, the wacky, the real and surreal.
Included will be everything from cartoons for the kids to short, sharp locally and globally made movies.
What's more, it's all free.
The Kino Cinemobile Tour is a pre-Fest freebie for the north west to celebrate the 10th birthday of Kinofilm, Manchester's International Short Film and Video Festival, which runs from February 24 to March 5.
This year's festival is supported by Baby Cow Manchester, the film and TV production company set up by Steve Coogan and Henry Normal.
To mark this fact, there will also be a special free screening of Steve's latest film, A Cock And Bull Story, at Stockport's wonderful Plaza Cinema on February 10.
After that, the Kino Cinemobile Tour continues until its finale in Bolton on the 26th.
There's also a Valentine's Day special, showing romantic films on February 14 in Albert Square, Manchester.
Full dates for the Kino Cinemobile tour are: St. Petersgate car park, Stockport (February 10-12); Haigh Hall, Wigan (February 13); Albert Square, Manchester (February 14); Ordsall Hall, Salford (February 15); Middleton Gardens, Rochdale (February 16); Ashton Town Hall, Tameside (February 17); Flag Market, Preston (February 18); Castlefield Basin, Manchester (February 19); Failsworth Precinct, Oldham (February 20); Lees Co-op car park, Oldham (February 21); Royton Precinct car park (February 22); Satellite Youth Centre, Greenfield (February 23); Market Place, Henshaw Street, Oldham (February 24); and Victoria Square, Bolton (February 25-6).
