CHRIS Evans is backing fellow radio presenter Edith Bowman to win Comic Relief Does Fame Academy é and has put his money where his mouth is.

The Warrington-born media personality has bet é100 at odds of 16/1 that the Radio 1 DJ will triumph on the BBC1 show.

Evans was reportedly impressed by Bowmanés version of the Blondie hit Hanging on the Telephone, saying: "Edith has a great chance, she did fantastic on Saturday."

The Scot survived last nightés eviction show too, thanks to a spirited version of Shout, which was written by The Isley Brothers but made popular by Lulu.
