Take That have been monkeying around ahead of the release of their new album, Progress.

The group stripped to ape the famous 'ascent of man' image for the cover of their latest offering.

And the Darwin-esque theme appears to have rubbed off during this fully-clothed photo shoot.

Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow mucked around while Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald looked on amused.

The reunited band said they toyed with renaming the band 'The English' when Williams returned this Summer, but stuck to their guns.

Progress is said to mark a change in style for Take That, including experimentation with electronic pop.

It will be released on November 22.
