Mrs Doyle strips off to go all Shameless

Pauline McLynn has filmed nude scenes after being cast as Frank Gallagher’s love interest, librarian Libby Croaker, in the Manchester-set show.

SHE was Mrs Doyle in hit comedy Father Ted, but now Pauline McLynn has taken on a most unholy role in TV’s Shameless.

The 47-year-old Irish actress has filmed nude scenes after being cast as Frank Gallagher’s love interest, librarian Libby Croaker, in the Manchester-set show.

She said: “It’s not exactly a part people have seen me play before. I was always handier as character old crones. I have to get my kit off because it’s Shameless.”

As well as playing Frank, this time David Threlfall directs some episodes too.

The seventh series begins on January 26 on Channel 4.

Since they moved the setting from that estate off Hyde rd where the Wellington pub is, I Think it was Great Ducie St, the show and scenes are really false looking, it was better in the early days, rubbish now

That series has become a parody of itself, it needed scrapping long before a seventh series.
