Student's pet cat inspires X Factor 'BrightDance'

A STUDENT'S purr-fect idea will see her make her TV debut tonight - disguised as a cat.

Sarah Fletcher's `BrightDance' will be shown during ad breaks on ITV talent show The X Factor.

Sarah, a 21-year-old maths and finance undergraduate at Manchester university, was watching the show last weekend when she noticed adverts for phone company TalkTalk, featuring members of the public making unusual shapes with lights on webcams at home.

The ads run immediately before and after The X Factor during commercial breaks.

Happy

Sarah's father suggested she send in her own feline version of the BrightDance, drawing a triangular nose and whiskers on the screen and lining it up with her face.

Sarah, from Cheadle Heath, Stockport, said she was surprised when she found out her video had been selected.

"I opened up my email a couple of days ago and was shocked," she said. "I'm really happy mine got picked."

Sarah's video was inspired by her pet cat, Charlie.

She rescued the black and brown tabby after he was shot with a BB gun.

Why on earth would anyone want to enter a show disguised as vermin?

Might make a change from most of the acts which sound like a cat being swung around by its tail

Having seen the video, all I can say is, is that what passes for entertainment these days?
