Corrie star Kym Marsh named celebrity mum of the year

CORONATION Street star Kym Marsh has been named Celebrity Mum of the Year.

The actress and mother-of-two, from Ashton in Makerfield near Wigan, confirmed she is back together with former Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas as she accepted the award.

Marsh, 33, plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap and is mum to David, 14, and Emily, 11.

She and Lomas had to cope with the death of their premature baby boy earlier this year. Archie Jay Lomas was born 18 weeks early in February, and died moments after birth.

Marsh said: "Yes we are back together. Jamie has got a son of his own and he is a very good father but he can't win Celebrity Mum of the Year!

"It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there, it has been a really difficult year.

"I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children."

The former Hear'Say star accepted the Bounty Celebrity Mum of the Year 2009 Award, voted for by the public, at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

Marsh is divorced from former EastEnders star Jack Ryder and split up with Lomas last month, only for them to reconcile.

Her two children are from a previous relationship with Dave Cunliffe.

Well done Kym on your Bounty Celebrity Mum of the year award 2009. This is the next best thing to England winning the world cup. You are the envy of mothers all around. Especially the rough ones that smoke cigars, drink pints and have their ex blokes names tattooed across their forehead and countless of piercings in their face and awaiting their next giro.

I have never seen this, or any other celebrity mum of the year, actually do anything worthy of the title, the only thing of note she has done this last year is have breast enlargement!!!

A joke indeed - a working mum??? She should try working full time and juggling kids, cleaning, housework, washing, ironing etc etc and also have her kids full time!!! which she doesnt! A complete insult to anyone who has kids and works full time - just as well we just snigger at it !

How do you work full time and have your kids full time ?(unless you take them to work with you)
How do you you know she doesnt do her own ironing an cleaning? Why are you so down on her, yes she has won celebrity mum of the year, maybe if we had a 'non celebrity' mum'of the year you might win that. I spot a bit of the green eyed monster.
